How to Calculate Stretch Percentage?

The Stretch Percentage measures how much a material has been stretched compared to its original length. It is calculated using the following formula:

• Final Length is the length of the material after stretching.
• Original Length is the length of the material before stretching.

Steps to Calculate:

1. Subtract the Original Length from the Final Length to get the amount of stretch.
2. Divide the stretch amount by the Original Length.
3. Multiply the result by 100 to convert it into a percentage.

Example 1:

• Original Length: 100 cm
• Final Length: 120 cm

Stretch Percentage = [(120−100) /100] × 100

= (20/100) × 100 = 20%

Example 2:

• Original Length: 50 inches
• Final Length: 75 inches

Stretch Percentage = [(75−50)/50] × 100

= (25/50) × 100 = 50%
